The Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade (Heavy) gives you a solid foundation of knowledge in the fabrication principles that underpin all your future fabrication and engineering studies. This is your entry-level qualification and is the required minimum level of study to work in the fabrication trade. Where the Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade (Light) is designed for people who want to be sheetmetal workers, the Heavy stream is designed for boilermakers and welders.
You may choose to go on to further study with the Certificate IV in Engineering. This courses is designed to give you trade-level and post-trade level skills in fitting and machining, metal fabrication and welding.

The Diploma of Engineering - Advanced Trade is designed for people who have completed a Certificate III or IV in an engineering trade who are seeking to expand their knowledge and skills, and to achieve a higher level of qualification. You will gain the competencies required by an advanced tradesperson working at peak trade levels in the manufacturing, engineering or related industries. The course will provide you with advanced skills and knowledge to modify fluid power control systems, interpret technical manuals, write technical reports, research and analyse engineering data, and workplace health and safety.
When you complete the Diploma of Engineering - Advanced Trade you'll have specialist skills in hydraulic systems, as a technical specialist, supervisor, or advanced tradesperson.
You will gain hands-on experience in:

The sheet metal product manufacturing industry plays a vital role in modern manufacturing as a broad spectrum of industries rely on the services offered by this sector.
Forecast to generate $1.5 billion in revenue to 2020, revenue is set to increase by an average of 3% per annum to 2023/24.
Currently there is a shortage of sheetmetal trades workers in NSW and improving conditions in the sector, demand in agricultural markets and a decline in the price of iron and steel are likely to continue to bolster demand.
A qualified sheetmetal trades worker can also pathway to other occupations such as metal fabricators. Employment of metal fabricators in New South Wales is forecast to increase by 9.6% over the next five years.
