Build an exciting career in drafting and detailing as you learn to use state-of-the-art CAD software applications. Create engineering drawings and 3D models for architects, engineers, fabricators and builders in a general CAD drafting environment.

Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

  • Use computer aided drafting (CAD) to create engineering drawings and 3D models

  • Interpret technical drawings

  • Apply dimensions, text and symbols to drawing elements

  • Use a number of different drafting and modelling software applications

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Manufacturing Technology (CAD/Drafting) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 11 units of competency, including 3 core and 8 speciality units.
