Overview
Would you like to become a recreational vehicle service provider? TAFE NSW Certificate III in Recreational Vehicle Service and Repair will take your skills to the next level.
You will learn how to:
- Test and repair of electrical circuits
- Service suspension systems
- Repair RV chassis, frames and associated components
- Remove and replace the vehicle floor, sidewall cladding, shower cubicle and walls, gas struts and roof-lifting equipment, camper or pop-top roof and other RV components
This is a trade level qualification. Students will be expected to work under supervision while servicing and repairing recreational vehicles to meet Australian requirements, such as road worthiness and the Australian Design Rule (ADR) including:
- Motor homes
- Caravans
- Camper trailers
- Slide-ons
- Fifth wheelers
This may be carried out in a service and repair facility or a manufacturers factory. Work may be for an insurance claim, modifying an existing recreational vehicle or routine servicing.
Once you have successfully completed this qualification, you can enjoy a reputation as a quality RV Service Provider with the ability to meet customer expectations, as well as Australian requirements for RV roadworthiness.
