Overview

Are you looking to gain trade-level technical skills to support the design, development and production of fabricated textile products? TAFE NSW's Certificate III in Manufactured Textile Products will teach you specialised technical, operational and supervisory skills for employment in the creation of specialised products such as yacht sails, shades, shade sails, and PVC and canvas items. You will learn to translate information into measurements and diagrams, use canvas and sail production tools, and perform industrial sewing on textile products.

Elective units include the ability to fabricate and install automotive and marine frames, canopies and side curtains, use leather in automotive and marine trimming, and perform advanced welding of plastic materials. Electives also include estimating and costing a job, use of computer technology, and the ability to stitch by hand. Enjoy working in a small to medium-sized enterprise work environment, or use your knowledge and skills as a basis for more advanced TAFE courses.
