Overview

Do you dream of working in an equestrian environment? Begin your career as a stablehand employed to feed, groom and exercise racehorses with TAFE NSW's Certificate II in Racing (Stablehand). This entry-level course will teach you to comply with the rules of racing and related protocols to handle horses, perform basic riding tasks, assist with transportation, and attend horses at trackwork, race meetings and trials.

You will also learn to follow WHS procedures and environmental work practices in your stable and riding duties to keep the environment safe, clean and hygienic. Enjoy working under the direction of a trainer or stable foreman in the racing industry, or use your skills to find other horse care jobs in Australia, including cattle station and farm hand jobs.
