In this course you will undertake:

Your assessments will take place at your workplace or in a TAFE NSW simulated environment.

The Certificate III in Civil Construction (General) gives you the skills you need to work across a broad range of civil construction environments. As the name suggests, it is a general course that gives you a broad overview of the industry. You can study more specialised civil construction areas such as Bridge Construction and Maintenance, Road Construction and Maintenance, Pipe Laying and Tunnel Construction.

The Certificate IV in Civil Construction (Operations) will help further your career in the construction industry. You will be able to work in the field, performing specialist tasks such as implementing work health and safety (WHS) and environmental policies, apply quality management onsite and risk management processes. You can study elective units in project management including contracts, tenders, application and test procedures, and supervise civil works contractors. When you graduate you will be able to apply site work instructions and practices to ensure quality and quantity of site output. This course is available as a traineeship.

The Certificate IV in Civil Construction (Supervision) will help you take charge, managing people and resources. You will learn to lead and supervise others, apply management plans and supervise civil works. You will also have the opportunity to choose from a broad range of elective units relating to operational and business skills. This course is available as a traineeship.

You will gain hands-on experience:

  • Checking plant and equipment for serviceability
  • Safely operating plant and equipment to build infrastructure
