Entry requirements

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

  • Current employment as a manager or supervisor in the hair and beauty industry, as evidenced by a letter from your employer

  • Before your first day of class you must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills test. This helps us to determine that your skills match the demands of the course, to direct you to an alternative study option or to provide you with the appropriate support for your success. Your teacher will let you know when this must be completed.

Entry recommendations

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

  • A love of working with people and the ability to build rapport

  • Good communication skills and confidence to provide positive client experiences

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and respond well to rapid change

  • Good computer skills

  • Access and ability to use office equipment such as a PC, Microsoft Office software, online meeting applications and reliable internet

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Salon Management qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 10 units of competency, including 7 core and 3 speciality units.
