This course, the Certificate III, is the entry level qualification that will give you the underpinning skills you need to work in tourism. Once you have successfully completed this course you will have gained the practical skills and knowledge required to work in a range of tourism settings. You will have the ability to complete routine tasks, procedures and to deal with the occasional unpredictable issue.

The Certificate IV in Travel and Tourism will also provide you with the underpinning skills you need for employment in travel and tourism. This qualification will also provide you with supervisory and leadership skills. At this level you will be expected to practice your skills at an intermediate level.

The Certificate III is a pathway qualification to the Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management and will provide you with management skills to work in the tourism industry.

Training will take place in the context of a real or simulated work environment either on the job or at a TAFE NSW campus.

Depending on your electives, you will gain hands-on experience in:

  • Providing visitor information
  • Sales and customer services techniques
  • Providing domestic and international travel destination information
