Completing the Certificate III, with the appropriate elective units, can provide credit towards the UEE40611 Certificate IV in Electrotechnology - Systems Electrician or the UEE40911 Certificate IV in Industrial Electronics and Control.

The Certificate III in Electrotechnology - Electrician qualification meets PART of the requirements for issue of a Qualified Supervisors Certificate - Electrician issued by NSW Fair Trading, which permits the holder to work unsupervised on low voltage fixed wiring and equipment and to directly supervise others undertaking this work.
In conjunction with workplace training and skills development, you will gain skills and knowledge in the installation and termination of electrical cables, accessories and appliances including:
- Socket outlets
- Light fittings
- Heating appliances
- Cooking appliances
This is hands-on, practical qualification where you practice and learn in a simulated electrical installation site. You will also be required to collect workplace evidence to show the practical application of your new skills.
TAFE NSW offers you a variety of study environments to enhance your learning and employability, such as:
- Theory/practical classrooms with equipment suitable for delivery of electrotechnology content
- Computer rooms to facilitate the use of electrotechnology software applications, blended delivery and assessment as required
- Workshops equipped with suitable fixed, portable and hand-held tools and equipment and suitable materials storage facilities
- Wiring rooms with suitable facilities to allow delivery and assessment of practical wiring competencies
- Electrical Installation Testing rooms which model full electrical installations to provide for testing and verification of electrical installations
