The residential air conditioning market is growing steadily with major manufacturers anticipating $2.2 billion in sales throughout 2019.

The commercial refrigeration sector is beginning to experience major skills shortages, with few qualified tradesmen actually possessing any experience in this area.

The high-rise air conditioning sector has been experiencing a dramatic decline in experienced tradesmen since 2014.

All of these factors are driving wages up for those that possess the required skills.

Every aspect of modern society relies on refrigeration and/or air conditioning in one way or another. Air-conditioning is commonly used in every building to keep people comfortable, but it is also used to manufacture glass bottles and glass windows, manufacture every type of medication, and most food products, not to mention every server room that makes up the internet.

Every house has a refrigerator these days but all that food must be kept preserved until you buy it. Huge refrigerated holding rooms are used for this purpose for everything that you buy at your local supermarket, including meats, dairy products, fruit and vegies, and frozen products like ice cream.

The number of tradesmen keeping all of this working across the country is approximately 22,000.
