Overview

Our Certificate III in Gas Fitting is a nationally recognised course that qualifies you to seek employment as a gas fitter.

Combining both theoretical and practical learning, this course provides students with the necessary technical knowledge and skills to:

- Read plans and calculate plumbing quantities
- Install LPG systems in caravans, mobile homes and mobile workplaces
- Maintain, disconnect and reconnect Type A gas appliances
- Install gas piping systems
- Work safely on roofs

You can also develop soft skills in areas such as workplace communication, teamwork, problem-solving and self-management which are essential for day-to-day operations.

This is a licensed occupation. Upon graduation, an application for a license is required to be made separately through the NSW Fair Trading.

Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.
