Frequently Asked Questions

For those who already hold TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment you may be required to complete the Training and Assessment upgrade as a requirement to be a qualified trainer and assessor and be able to work unsupervised. You may need to need to complete one or two units dependent on your previous qualification. You cannot study both units at the same time, and require two separate enrolments. Both units are fully subsided.

TAFE NSW offers the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment with Away from Base. Participants may be eligible for support with travel and accommodation, dependant on distance of the participant from the place of study.

Having an accredited qualification in Training and Assessment provides a pathway to employment with Registered Training Organisation (RTOs) and allows you to teach in your area of expertise.

This aims to increase the percentage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teaching staff employed within the TAFE NSW workforce, and enhancing the number of Aboriginal-specific courses and units that can be offered in community.

All participants will be asked to provide evidence of vocational competence in the area proposed to teach and assess. All interested participants will be asked to provide a current Resume and evidence of any qualifications they hold in the area that is proposed to train and assess in.
