For those participants who want to teach under supervision, you will need to complete:

TAESS00014-V01 Statement of Attainment Enterprise Trainer-Presenting Skill Set

This course will be delivered via Microsoft Teams one evening per week from 5pm – 9pm for 8 weeks. Participants attend from home on their own device.

For those participants who already hold TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, you may need to update your current qualification with either one of the two Statement of Attainment Courses.

900-50200V01 Statement of Attainment in Design and develop assessment tools

This course will be delivered via Microsoft Teams two evenings per week from 6.30pm – 8.30pm for 7 weeks. Participants attend from home on their own device.

900-81213V01 - Statement of Attainment in Addressing adult language, literacy and numeracy skills

This course will be delivered via Microsoft Teams one evening per week from 5pm – 9pm for 7 weeks. Participants attend from home on their own device.

Course finish date 8 April, 2022

Attend 5 blocks of 5 days a week at either Queanbeyan Campus, Kingscliff Campus or Eora College over 18 months. In between the study blocks attend a once-a-week Wednesday evening Webinar from 5pm – 9pm over the 18 months from home using your own device.

If participants reside more than 90 minutes from the training location and are Abstudy eligible, they may be eligible to obtain support with travel and accommodation and meals via Abstudy Away from Base funding.

Frequently Asked Questions

For those who already hold TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment you may be required to complete the Training and Assessment upgrade as a requirement to be a qualified trainer and assessor and be able to work unsupervised. You may need to need to complete one or two units dependent on your previous qualification. You cannot study both units at the same time, and require two separate enrolments. Both units are fully subsided.

TAFE NSW offers the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment with Away from Base. Participants may be eligible for support with travel and accommodation, dependant on distance of the participant from the place of study.

Having an accredited qualification in Training and Assessment provides a pathway to employment with Registered Training Organisation (RTOs) and allows you to teach in your area of expertise.

This aims to increase the percentage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teaching staff employed within the TAFE NSW workforce, and enhancing the number of Aboriginal-specific courses and units that can be offered in community.

All participants will be asked to provide evidence of vocational competence in the area proposed to teach and assess. All interested participants will be asked to provide a current Resume and evidence of any qualifications they hold in the area that is proposed to train and assess in.
