Entry requirements

HSC or School Certificate

For entry to many TAFE NSW courses you'll need to have completed the NSW Higher School Certificate (Year 12) or School Certificate (Year 10).

If you don't have one of these qualifications, you may have 'equivalents' that allow you to enrol.

Knowledge and skills

Selection for TAFE NSW is not based on your TER or ATAR, but for some courses you'll need a good understanding of specific HSC subjects.

For these courses you'll be asked to assess your knowledge of a subject. This will help confirm that you can cope with the course.

Qualifications and experience

For some courses, particularly higher-level ones, you'll need experience or qualifications in a relevant field. Specific requirements are listed in each course description.
