In addition to the TAFE NSW fee, concession fee or fee-for-service amount, some courses have charges to cover the costs of materials, resources, equipment or services used directly during the course of study. Some courses require you to purchase additional resources such as protective clothing, licence fees and textbooks.
All TAFE NSW fees and charges are reviewed on a yearly basis and are subject to change.
You must purchase and wear uniform or protective clothing for some courses. Entry to the class will be refused unless the required uniform or protective clothing is worn.
You will be given information about protective clothing or uniform requirements at the time of enrolment.
Some courses require you to pay a materials charge. Details of this charge will be provided at the time of enrolment.
OTEN (Open Training and Education Network) provides distance education courses. You must pay an annual Student Materials and Handling Charge for courses where you pay the TAFE NSW fee. This partially offsets additional costs associated with distance delivery.
If you're living in Australia, the charge is $50. If you're living overseas the charge is $120. This charge is non-refundable.
You must pay this charge even if you're eligible for an exemption from the TAFE NSW fee or for the concession fee.
