Degrees - Student Profile - Notes

These applicants have completed a higher education course since leaving secondary education. They include applicants who:

  • studied at a university or non-university higher education provider either recently or in the past.
  • transferred from another provider or changed courses at an institution.
  • completed bridging or enabling studies.

These are applicants whose highest level of study since leaving secondary education is a VET course. This includes study at a TAFE or private VET providers, whether the qualification was completed or not. VET students may have already gained other qualifications, such as a Year 10 Certificate or Year 12 Certificate.

These are applicants admitted on the basis of previous achievement and do not fit in the other three categories. 'Experience' can include paid work experience, professional awards or service, and/or aptitude tests.

These are applicants whose admission is based on secondary education completed in the current year or previous two years.

  • Admitted solely on the basis of ATAR-regardless of whether this includes the consideration of adjustment factors such as equity or subject bonus points.
  • Admitted where both ATAR and additional criteria were considered e.g. portfolio, audition, extra test, early offer conditional on minimum ATAR.
  • Admitted on the basis of other criteria only and ATAR was not a factor e.g. special consideration, audition alone, schools recommendation scheme with no minimum ATAR requirement.
