The Federal Government is providing support for people to retrain or upskill during COVID-19. If you are a domestic student, you may be eligible to complete this course at a discounted rate. You must have commenced the course in July 2020 and must have completed the course by December 2020 to be eligible for the discounted tuition fee. Students who continue their studies beyond December 2020 will be subject to full fee payment of any subjects in this course studied after this date.

Duration: One semester full-time

Course Load: You must complete 4 subjects and achieve 40 credit points to complete this course. Each subject is worth 10 credit points.

Discounted Short Course: In 2020 domestic students will pay a tuition fee of $1,250 for the full course. Students must complete the course by December 2020 to be eligible for the discounted short course fee. Students who study beyond this date will be required to pay full fees. Domestic students who enrol in the discounted short course may be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) which means that you can take out a HECS loan to pay the tuition fee for the discounted short course.

Full fees: In 2021 domestic students will pay a tuition fee of $1,175 per subject (a total of $4,700 for the full Undergraduate Certificate). This course attracts FEE-HELP, so eligible students can study now and pay later.

There may be additional costs to purchase resources required for individual subjects. The course coordinator can advise you of any additional course fees.

Students enrolling into the Undergraduate Certificate cannot get recognition for previous learning.

This course offers a pathway into the Diploma of Adult Education, with all subjects credited towards the Diploma.

Study pattern

Students enrol in four subjects over one semester, with all subjects delivered online. As well as engaging in online learning content, students are expected to undertake additional private study to maximise success in the course. Students will be required to have internet access and a computer capable of connecting with TAFE NSW online learning systems.


Assessments are designed to be authentic to the challenges and expectations of industry. Most subjects require the completion of 3 to 4 assessment tasks. Assessment types include, but are not limited to case studies, essays, reports, work based projects, online presentations and tests.
