3 months to complete
Although CAD design has been around for decades, it's booming because so many elements of our built environment are first-designed on a computer.
If you're a school leaver, existing worker or a small business owner looking to learn these skills or just up-skill in the engineering industry, you’ll learn about workplace communication; get Digital orientation on sharing information and cloud computing; gain access to the latest student discounted software; enjoy augmented reality and project-based learning experiences with access to cutting-edge simulated learning inside TAFE Digital's “Fictitious Organisation".
As a passionate and enthusiastic educator, John brings a wealth of knowledge to Computer Aided Design. He has over 14 years of practical CAD experience in his own business and in the building industry, including project home companies, large architectural firms and building developments.
John is well qualified and prides himself on staying up-to-date with industry trends in building design. With more than 12 years’ teaching experience with TAFE NSW and Western Sydney University, John continues to instill his passion for CAD with his students.
You'll also learn the language of drafting; how to interpret technical drawings and how to create 2D drawings from a brief, using the latest computer-aided design software, AutoCAD.
Once complete, students can then progress onto learning how to create 3D models in 3D CAD software, using SolidWorks in the 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) Skill Set.
This course would help you take steps towards working as a Draftsperson, 2D Computer Aided Designer or a 3D Computer Aided Designer, primarily in the engineering industry.
