Hunter TAFE Foundation
The Hunter TAFE Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation working with business, education, and community leaders to support education and training at TAFE NSW in the Hunter and Central Coast region.
Established in 2000, the Hunter TAFE Foundation has a rich history in the region, having evolved from the Newcastle Technical and Further Education Committee Trust Fund, which received its first donation in 1936 to provide skills for employment.
Fast forward to today, and the Foundation provides financial support to TAFE NSW students in the Hunter and Central Coast who are experiencing either personal or financial hardship, assisting them in completing their studies.
Throughout the 2020/21 financial year, the Foundation presented 52 awards, scholarships and grants, providing over $61,000 in financial assistance to TAFE NSW students in need of support, encouragement and financial assistance to complete their studies. With your help, we can support even more students in the future.

How can I donate?
The Hunter TAFE Foundation accepts donations from individuals, organisations, and community groups, who share the vision of the Foundation, to support and encourage students studying in the vocational sector throughout the Hunter and Central Coast regions.
There are two ways to donate:
- A one-off or ongoing donation to the Hunter TAFE Foundation, to support scholarship programs in priority areas.
- Establish a new, customised scholarship fund in your business, organisation or individual name.
All contributions made through a donation to the Hunter TAFE Foundation, to further or advance education at TAFE NSW in the Hunter and Central Coast, are fully tax deductible.
Interested in establishing an award or scholarship?
Individuals and organisations are more than welcome to make an annual donation to help support continued education in the Hunter and Central Coast regions.
We understand that some donors may wish to establish an award or scholarship that aligns with their particular field of expertise or specific career area. Hunter TAFE Foundation - Testimonial
"The scholarship was the next stepping stone needed to further my career. I would encourage anyone in the industry who is eligible to apply for the Barker Maritime Scholarship. Take the time to apply, write down your goals of where you want to be in five years’ time and formulate your cover letter based around that. Be realistic, but aim high,"
"This scholarship has helped me immensely with equipment that is required for developing my sound engineering career during this course and beyond."
