Ranks to Recognition
TAFE NSW - Ranks to Recognition Program
TAFE NSW Ranks to Recognition (R2R) assist veterans from the Australian Defence Force (ADF) transition into the civilian workforce. It is a partnership between TAFE NSW and the NSW Office for Veterans affairs. The program supports the NSW Veterans Education Program (VEP).
TAFE NSW offer veterans customised careers advice, counselling, skills assessment, recognition of prior learning (RPL) and training gap analysis to help identify the skills and knowledge acquired in the ADF.
TAFE NSW will identify the individual units that the veteran will be required to obtain a nationally recognised qualification.
Ranks to Recognition is also the first step the veterans need to undertake in order to apply for the Veterans Education Program (VEP). This program funds tuition fees of up to $4000 for courses which are included on the NSW Smart and Skilled List and delivered by TAFE NSW. VEP applications are open from 16 November 2020 until 8 January 2021. The NSW Office for Veterans Affairs (OVA) administer the VEP program. For more information about VEP including eligibility and application, the veteran should contact the NSW Office for Veterans Affairs (OVA) on 1300 838 233 or email email@example.com or check their webpage https://www.vep.veterans.nsw.gov.au/veterans-education-program/
Veterans who enrolled at TAFE NSW via the Ranks to Recognition will have access to TAFE NSW support services including counselling, disability services and study support to complete their qualification, which will equip them with the skills they need to gain employment.
All DVA Gold and White Card holders who have an accepted service related condition, which may impact their ability to study may be eligible for a fee exemption.
