Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals with substantial
experience in a range of settings who are seeking to further develop their
skills across a wide range of business functions. This qualification is
also suited to the needs of individuals with little or no vocational
experience, but who possess sound theoretical business skills and
knowledge that they would like to develop in order to create further
educational and employment opportunities.

Articulation

When you finish this course you may be eligible to do BSB60207 Advanced
Diploma of Business or other specialist Advanced Diploma qualifications in the
Business Services Training Package (BSB07) such as management, marketing or
human resources.
In addition, depending on units/electives completed in this course, you may be
eligible for advanced standing in other courses and other Training Package
qualifications.
You may also be able to articulate to degree courses in Business or a related
area.

 There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
Pathways into the qualification
Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:
-  BSB40207 Certificate IV in Business or other relevant qualification/s
-  with vocational experience in a range of work environments in senior support
roles but without a qualification.
Examples of indicative job roles for candidates seeking entry based upon their
vocational experience include:
-  Administrator
-  Project Officer.
This breadth of expertise would equate to the competencies required to undertake

What you must do to complete the course

The course structure below shows what you must do to complete this course.

You must complete each group as specified as well as following the course
completion instructions.   If a course contains optional groups there will
statement at the top of the course indicating how many you must do.  At the
top of any group containing optional subgroups there will be a statement
saying how many you must do.
 
 
This course reflects the packaging requirements for BSB50207 Diploma of
Business within the Business Services Training Package (BSB07 - Release
8.0). The rules from BSB07 Training Package release 8.0 are as follows:
 
Packaging Rules
 
Total number of units = 8
8 elective units
 
6 of the elective units must be selected from the units listed below. No
more than 3 units may be selected from any one Group.
 
2 elective units may be selected from elective units listed below, from
this Training Package or from any current accredited course or endorsed
Training Package at this qualification level or Certificate IV or Advanced
 
Elective units must be relevant to the work outcome, local industry
requirements and the qualification level.
 
 
To satisfy the Training Package requirements, this TAFE NSW course has been
structured as follows:
 
A total of 8 elective units must be completed
 
Group 1 - units listed in BSB50207

At least 6 and no more than 8 units must be completed from the subgroups
within this group as follows:
 
 
Subgroup 1:Group A - Advertising and Writing Units
You may complete up to a maximum of three units from this
subgroup.
 
Subgroup 2:Group B - Business Administration and IT units
You may complete up to a maximum of three units from this
subgroup.
 
Subgroup 3:Group C - Human Resource Management Units
You may complete up to a maximum of three units from this
subgroup.
 
Subgroup 4:Group D - Marketing and Public Relations Units
You may complete up to a maximum of three units from this
subgroup.
 
Subgroup 5:Group E - Management Units
You may complete up to a maximum of three units from this
subgroup.
 
 
Group 2 - Units from other training packages and accredited course at
CIV/Diploma and Adv Diploma level

NOTES FOR STUDENTS

1. LEARNER SUPPORT

2. SELECTION OF ELECTIVES
Talk to your teacher and/or workplace trainer, to ensure that your
combination of electives provides you with a suitable vocational outcome.
 
3. RECOGNITION
If you have completed other relevant training, you may be eligible to have
of competency from previous training counted towards completion for this
course. If you think you may be eligible for recognition of units
previously completed, talk to your teacher or workplace trainer.
