Course overview

Course Description

This course aims to provide you with administrative skills and a broad
knowledge base in a wide variety of administrative roles. You will be able
to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems, and
analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. You may
provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility.
 
In order to successfully complete this course, it is highly recommended
that you have work experience, high level oral and written communication
skills within an office environment, experience using office systems and
experience administering projects.

Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:
- BSB30407 Certificate III in Business Administration or other
  relevant qualification/s;
OR
- vocational experience in providing administrative or operational support
  to individuals and/or teams but without a formal business administration
  qualification.

their vocational experience include:

This course reflects the packaging requirements for BSB40507 Certificate
IV in Business Administration (Release 3) within the BSB07 Business
Services Training Package, Release 9.0. The rules from BSB07 R9.0 Training
 
Packaging Rules

Total number of units = 10
10 elective units
5 elective units must be selected from the Group A units listed below.
 
The remaining 5 elective units may be selected from the Group A or Group B
listed below, or any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited
course at the same qualification level. If not listed below, 1 elective
unit may be selected from either a Certificate III or Diploma
qualification.  

PLEASE NOTE:

BSBITU307A Develop keyboarding speed and accuracy cannot be selected as an
elective unit for this qualification.
 
Elective units must be relevant to the work outcome, local industry
requirements and the qualification level.
 
 
To satisfy the Training Package requirements, this TAFE NSW course has been
structured as follows:
 
A total of 10 units must be completed
 
Group 1 ADMINISTRATION AND ELECTIVE UNITS

This group contains 3 subgroups. At least 5 units must be completed from
subgroup 1. The remaining elective unit may be selected from subgroups
1/2/3, or from Group 2.

Subgroup 2 Group B Elective Units
Subgroup 3 Elective Units at Certificate IV qualification level
 
Group 2 Elective Units at Certificate III or Diploma qualification level

NOTES FOR STUDENTS

1. LEARNER SUPPORT
Students requiring support to meet their learning goals need to co-enrol
in the Learner Support course (TAFE Course Number 9999). Talk to your
teacher if you think you may require learner support.
 
2. SELECTION OF ELECTIVES
Talk to your teacher and/or workplace trainer, to ensure that your
combination of electives provides you with a suitable vocational outcome
 
3. RECOGNITION
If you have completed other relevant training, you may be eligible to have
of competency from previous training counted towards completion for this
course. If you think you may be eligible for recognition of units
previously completed, talk to your teacher or workplace trainer.
 
4. PREREQUISITE UNITS
Some units in this course may have prerequisites that must be completed in
lower level qualification or selected as part of this course. Refer to the
Training Package or consult your teacher for information about
prerequisites to elective units.
