Course overview

Course Description

This course is for people who work in a wide range of specialised and
managerial quality audit vocations, including planning, conducting and
evaluating quality improvements, and organising and supporting quality
audit systems. You will complete core quality auditing units as well as a
choice of electives in the areas of management, project management and
workplace effectiveness, among others.

Working in a quality auditing role.

Articulation

When you finish this course you may be eligible to do other specialist Diploma
or Advanced Diploma qualifications in the Business Services Training Package
(BSB07) such as management, marketing or human resources.
In addition, depending on units/electives completed in this course, you may be
eligible for advanced standing in other courses and other Training Package
qualifications.
You may also be able to articulate to degree courses in Business or a related
area.

 There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
Pathways into the qualification
Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:
-  BSB40207 Certificate IV in Business or other relevant qualification/s
-  with extensive vocational experience in auditing and without formal auditing
qualifications.
Examples of indicative job roles for candidates seeking entry based upon their
vocational experience include:
-  Administrator
-  Project Officer
-  Quality Assurance Officer.
This breadth of expertise would equate to the competencies required to undertake

You must complete each group as specified as well as following the course
completion instructions.   If a course contains optional groups there will
statement at the top of the course indicating how many you must do.  At the
top of any group containing optional subgroups there will be a statement
saying how many you must do.
 
 
This course reflects the packaging requirements for BSB51607 Diploma of
Quality Auditing within the Business Services Training Package (BSB07 -
Release 8.0). The rules from BSB07 Training Package release 8.0 are as
follows:  

Packaging Rules
 
Total number of units = 8
8 elective units
 
3 elective units must be selected from the Group A units listed below.
 
2 elective units must be selected from the Group A or Group B units listed
or from an equivalent level qualification within this Training Package.
 
The remaining 3 elective units may be selected from the Group A or Group B
listed below, or any currently endorsed Training Package, or accredited
course at the same qualification level. If not listed below, 1 unit may be
from either a Certificate IV or Advanced Diploma qualification.
 
Elective units must be relevant to the work outcome, local industry
requirements and the qualification level.
 
To satisfy the Training Package requirements, the TAFE NSW course has been
structured as follows:
 
8 elective units must be completed
 
Group 1: Elective units listed in BSB51607 & other BSB07 Diploma
qualifications

You must complete at least 3 units from this subgroup.
 
Subgroup 2: Group B elective units listed in BSB51607

You may complete up to three (3) units from the 2 subgroups within this
group as follows:
 
Subgroup 1: Units from other Training Packages or accredited courses at
Diploma qualification level
You may complete up to three (3) units from this subgroup.
 
Subgroup 2: Units from other Training Packages or accredited courses at CIV
or Advanced Diploma qualification level
You may complete only one (1) unit from this subgroup
 
 
NOTES FOR STUDENTS

1. LEARNER SUPPORT
Students who require support to meet their learning goals may co-enrol in
the Learner Support course (TAFE Course Number 9999). Talk to your teacher
think you may require learner support.
 
2. SELECTION OF ELECTIVES
Talk to your teacher and/or workplace trainer to ensure that your
combination of electives provides you with a suitable vocational outcome.
 
3. RECOGNITION
If you have completed other relevant training you may be eligible to have
units of competency from previous training counted towards completion for
this course. Talk to your teacher or workplace trainer if you think you
may be eligible for recognition for units previously completed.
 
4. PREREQUISITE UNITS
Some units in this course have prerequisites that must be completed in a
lower level qualification or selected as part of this course. Refer to the
Package or consult your teacher for information about prerequisites to
elective units.
