Course overview

Course Description

This course will allow you to develop international trade skills and a
broad knowledge base in a wide variety of international trade contexts.
You will learn to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable
problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.
You will also learn how to provide leadership and guidance to others with
some limited responsibility for the output of others.
 
Pathways into the qualification
 
Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:
- BSB30607 Certificate III in International Trade or other
  relevant qualification/s;
OR
- with vocational experience in assisting international trade/business
  team leaders, supervisors or managers to conduct international
  trade/business activities but without formal international trade
  qualifications.
 
Examples of indicative job roles for candidates seeking entry based upon
their vocational experience include:
- export clerk;
- import clerk;
- import/export clerk.
 
This breadth of expertise would equate to the competencies required to
undertake this qualification.

Articulation

After achieving the BSB41107 Certificate IV in International Trade, you may
undertake the BSB50807 Diploma of International Business, a qualification
for international business team leaders or managers who have responsibility for
managing a team and for those required to manage the international business
activities within an organisation, or a range of other qualifications.

What you must do to complete the course

The course structure below shows what you must do to complete this course.

You must complete each group as specified as well as following the course
completion instructions.   If a course contains optional groups there will
statement at the top of the course indicating how many you must do.  At the
top of any group containing optional subgroups there will be a statement
saying how many you must do.
 
 
This course reflects the packaging requirements for BSB41107 Certificate
IV in International Trade within the Business Services Training Package
(BSB07 - V6.0). The rules from BSB07 Training Package are as follows:
 
Packaging Rules
 
Total number of units = 10
10 elective units
 
4 elective units must be selected from the Group A units listed below.
3 elective units must be selected from the Group B units listed below.
 
The remaining 3 elective units may be selected from the remaining Group A
or Group B units listed below, or any currently endorsed Training Package
or accredited course at the same qualification level. If not listed below,
may be selected from either a Certificate III or Diploma qualification.
 
Elective units must be relevant to the work outcome, local industry
requirements and the qualification level.
 
To satisfy the Training Package requirements, this TAFE NSW course has been
structured as follows:
 
A total of ten (10) elective units must be completed
 
Group 1 - GROUP A - INTERNATIONAL TRADE ELECTIVE UNITS

Requirements to receive the qualification

To achieve BSB41107 Certificate IV in International Trade (TAFE NSW course
17895), learners must complete 10 units of competency, consisting:
 
* at least 4 International Trade units (from Group 1) and
* 6 elective units (from Groups 1, 2, 3 and 4), at least 3 of which must come
from Group 2.
