Course overview

Course Description

This course is for people who want to acquire knowledge and skills to
analyse, design and execute judgements using wide-ranging technical,
creative, conceptual or managerial competencies in the film, television,
radio and digital media industries. Their knowledge base may be
specialised or broad. These individuals are often accountable for group
outcomes.  

Career Opportunities

Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. Possible job titles
relevant to this qualification include: executive producer, games developer,
producer/director/screen writer.
 

Articulation

When you finish this course you may be eligible for advanced standing into
higher education degree programs at several universities.

Entry Requirements

 There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
It is recommended that applicants complete the Diploma of Screen and Media
(CUF50107), or equivalent prior to enrolling to provide a good foundation to the
advanced diploma.

What you must do to complete the course

The course structure below shows what you must do to complete this course.
units/modules are arranged in groups and sometimes also in subgroups.
 
You must complete each group as specified as well as following the course
completion instructions.   If a course contains optional groups there will
statement at the top of the course indicating how many you must do.  At the
top of any group containing optional subgroups there will be a statement
saying how many you must do.
 
 
This course reflects the packaging requirements of the CUF60107 Advanced
Diploma of Screen & Media (Release 1) within the Screen and Media Training
(CUF07 Release 1.2).
 
The qualification packaging rules state:
 
To achieve the Advanced Diploma of Screen & Media (CUF60107) a total of 16
of competency must be completed:
 
Total number of units = 16
2 core units
 
-14 elective units
-12 elective units must be selected from the Group A and/or Group B
elective units listed in CUF60107.
 
The remaining 2 elective units may be selected from the elective units
listed any endorsed Training Package or accredited course at the same
qualification level.
 
No more than 3 units may be selected from the Group B units.
No more than 4 elective units previously achieved can be counted towards
the qualification.
 
Electives must be relevant to the work outcome, local industry
requirements and the qualification level.

The following units form the competency field of Marketing. No more than
three units may be selected from this competency field:

structured as follows:

2. SELECTION OF ELECTIVES

If you have completed other relevant training you may be eligible to have
units of competency from previous training counted towards completion for
this course. Talk to your teacher or workplace trainer if you think you
may be eligible for recognition for units previously completed.

learners are required to complete 16 units of competency as follows:
 
2 core units plus
14 elective units.
