Course overview

Course Description

This course is for skilled operators who work in the sacks and bags area
in the printing industry. You will prepare material, monitor and run a
range of sack and bag equipment and apply solutions to a defined range of
unpredictable problems. You may also provide leadership and guidance to
others with some limited responsibility for their output.
 
At the completion of this course you could undertake further study in a
related printing course. For example:
- ICP40710 Certificate IV in Printing and Graphic Arts (Process
Leadership).

This course reflects the packaging requirements for ICP30810 Certificate
III in Printing and Graphic Arts (Sacks and Bags) within the Printing and
Graphic Arts Training Package (ICP10). The rules from the ICP10 Training
Package are as follows:
 
Requirements for completion of the qualification:
 
A successful assessment outcome for a total of 19 units made up of:
 
- 4 core units, plus
- 5 elective units from Group A, plus
- 10 elective units from Group B.
 
Up to 2 elective units from Group A can be substituted with Group B
elective units listed below.
 
Both of the units listed below from Group A elective units can be selected
this qualification, if the enterprise requires both.
 
ICPSU201C Prepare,load and unload reels and cores on and off machine
ICPSU202C Prepare,load and unload product on and off machine
 
6 elective units must be selected from the Group B elective units below.
 
Up to 4 Group B elective units may be selected from the remaining elective
or from qualifications at the same qualification level or one level
higher, in this Training Package or any other endorsed Training Package or
course.
 
Elective units must be relevant to the qualification level, job role, work
outcome and industry requirements. Unit selection is by negotiation and
mutual agreement between the employee, employer and the RTO and is based
on enterprise and individual needs.
 
To satisfy the Training Package requirements, this TAFE NSW course has been
structured as follows:
 
A total of 19 units must be completed.

If you have completed other relevant training you may be eligible to have
units of competency from previous training counted towards completion for
this course. Talk to your teacher or workplace trainer if you think you
may be eligible for recognition for units previously completed.
