This qualification provides an outcome for specialist hydraulic consultants
(Hydraulic services design stream).
 
The qualification has compulsory and elective unit of competency
requirements that cover common skills for the plumbing industry, as well
as the  specialist stream and a range of elective options.

You must complete each group as specified as well as following the course
completion instructions.   If a course contains optional groups there will

top of any group containing optional subgroups there will be a statement
saying how many you must do.
 
 
This course has been designed to reflect the packaging requirements for
CPC40909: Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services specialising in the
Hydraulic Services Design stream within the Construction, Plumbing and
Services Integrated Framework Training Package (CPC08). The rules from
CPC08 Training Package are as follows:
 
Hydraulic services design stream
--------------------------------
15 units of competency are required for award of this qualification:
* 10 compulsory units
* 5 elective units
 
The units must be completed as follows:
* all four common compulsory units
* all six compulsory units in the Hydraulic services design stream
* five elective units. Of these five elective units:
- at least two units must be selected from the pool of elective units in
the hydraulic services design stream
- one of the five units may be selected from a Certificate IV qualification
in another endorsed Training Package, ensuring both the integrity of the
AQF alignment and the industry context of the qualification is maintained
- one of the five units may be drawn from the Diploma of Hydraulic Services
Design qualification
- no more than three units may be selected from the common pool of elective
units.
 
Completion of the Work Health and Safety General Construction Induction
training program is required to enter and undertake the carrying out of
construction work on a site. The achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A Work
safely in the construction industry based on the National Code of Practice
Training for Construction Work (SAC 2006) covers this requirement.
 
 
This TAFE NSW course has been structured to satisfy the Training Package
requirements for the Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services specialising
in the Hydraulic Services Design stream.
 
A total of fifteen units must be completed, including ten core units from
group 1 and five elective units from groups 2, 3 and/or 4.
 
Group 1 - Compulsory Units

All compulsory units must be completed from subgroups 1 and 2
 
Group 2 - Elective Units listed in the Training Package

Five elective units must be completed
Subgroup 1 - Hydraulic Services Design Stream electives. At least two units
must be completed. The remaining three elective units may also
be selected from this subgroup
Subgroup 2 - Common Electives. A maximum of three units may be selected.
 
Group 3 - Units from CPC50609 Diploma Hydraulics Services Design

This is an enrichment group containing unit(s) relating to participating in

f you have completed other relevant training you may be eligible to have
units of competency from previous training counted towards completion for
this course. Talk to your teacher or workplace trainer if you think you
may be eligible for recognition for units previously completed.
 
4. PREREQUISITE UNITS
Some electives in this course may have prerequisites that must be
completed in as part of this course. Refer to the Training Package or
consult your teacher for information about prerequisites to elective units.
