Module/Unit Purpose

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to participate in the provision of information and performance data necessary to inform management and other stakeholders of work health and safety (WHS) issues and to measure and evaluate the management of WHS. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of endorsement. Specifically, you should be able to: Access sources of WHS information and data Assist in the application of policies and procedures for collection of workplace information, data and records Assist in maintaining information and data management systems that enable retrieval and distribution of WHS information and data Participate in the analysis of information and data to identify trends and actions for prevention Communicate WHS information and results of data analysis to stakeholders and external bodies Communicate the effectiveness of WHS information and data systems through monitoring and evaluation. This unit may be undertaken in the context of a WHS Management System or any other systematic approaches to managing WHS in the workplace.
