The Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques will provide you with the skills and knowledge to perform a range of manual, semi-automated and fully automated laboratory techniques for the purpose of collecting and preparing samples.

You will look forward to a career which can include specialist testing across a variety of sectors. You will learn to adjust formulations and production mixes, process and interpret data, train other personnel to follow established procedures, conduct basic tests and evaluate progress and quality.

This 9 month, intensive program has been developed in consultation with industry so you will gain the expertise that employers are looking for.

TAFE NSW offers you a range of on campus study environments you will have access to industry specific computer rooms, simulated work places, study and presentation areas as well as general student facilities to enhance your learning and student experience.

You will study in authentic chemical and biological laboratories that have been designed and built specifically around OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation & Development) Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines, in order to provide an accurate simulation of modern laboratories.

To receive this course students must complete all core units and a range of Additional units. 

Note: Additional units may vary between each semester and campus, and will depend on a number of considerations including the packaging rules for the qualification and demand for the unit at that location. TAFE NSW does not guarantee that speciality units listed will be offered at each location and semester.
