    Develop your management skills with the Advanced Diploma of Apparel, Fashion and Textiles. During this course, you'll build on your existing skills and learn to manage the textile production process from start to finish. You'll also get the chance to present your final collection of 10 garments at your end-of-year show.

    The TAFE NSW fashion team gives you with the best technical training in the industry because they bring extensive expertise. You'll get access to a range of software to help you manage the entire textile production process. This includes programmes such as Gerber, Lectra, Adobe Creative Cloud and Clo3D.

    You'll also use various trend and forecasting websites and consumer analytics software to understand the future direction of the fashion market. Combined, these tech tools will help you complete planning, research and project work, and help you to develop marketing plans and design brief.

    Throughout the course, you'll study in both large workrooms and design digital rooms. TAFE NSW's large workrooms have pattern tables and all the latest sewing equipment and machines. Our design digital rooms have pattern digitisers and large Gerber cutters so you can cut your patterns and fabrics.

    Additional costs for uniforms, equipment, textbooks and materials (if applicable) range from $300 - $1,000 AUD per course.

    Structure and unitsWhat you will study

    At the start of your course, you will receive your timetable. You will need to study all core units and a range of additional units.


    10 elective units of competency, consisting of: at least 7 units from Group A 3 additional units from Group A, Group B or any endorsed Training Package or accredited course – these units must be relevant to the work outcome.
