I would encourage others to enrol to TAFE NSW because I feel like the course really prepared me for my career as a designer. It gave me a broad skill set and an ability to produce quality work.

Study with TAFE NSW
I chose TAFE NSW because I knew there was a bigger chance of me getting hired after the course. Compared to a lot of university degrees, what we learned is very practical and hands-on. Even in my first internship while studying, I saw a great difference between how quickly and accurately I was able to do my work compared to other interns there (who did not attend TAFE NSW).
The student experience
I took the course at the Enmore Design Centre, for 2 and a half years. I absolutely loved being there. I made a lot of friends, and I felt like I always have someone to talk or get advice from. I really enjoyed the campus. We had a cafeteria and a lovely courtyard to spend our breaks in. We each had our own computer in every classroom with all the software we needed for the course.
An international perspective
I have always felt welcomed. I was lucky to have the lovely Karen Kearney, the International Student Coordinator, who always made sure I knew her door was open and was so lovely and caring. TAFE NSW also regularly organised events for international students, which allowed everyone to socialise and share experiences.
Study with the best
Our teachers were very supportive, and always did everything in their ability to help us succeed.
All the teachers I’ve had were incredibly good designers and amazing teachers. I never felt like they didn’t have time for me and I’ve learned a lot from them. They made sure that everything we learnt in class will help us be successful in a job interview. The classes also covered a wide range of subjects, everything from print to digital, which gave me a lot more options when I was applying for work.
