Arts, media and entertainment

Arts, media and entertainment

Do you want to be part of the world of arts and entertainment? Whether you enjoy the creative or the technical side, it’s time to start your career.

The creative arts offer you an incredible industry of design and communication: from the power of photography, music and visual arts through to the disciplines of radio and television. It's a massive industry employing over 151,000 people.

Whatever your interest there's a role in the industry for you.  It needs creative minds to express their talents like writers, actors, musicians and fine artists. It's run by organised individuals who manage theatres and bands and curate museums and art galleries. It relies on technical professionals to operate sound, lighting and audio equipment.

There is expected growth in the areas of music, theatre production, performing arts venues and the pay TV industry. If you're a visual person, there are always great opportunities to help clients create amazing work in interior design, graphic design and the rapidly growing 3D design field.

3D art and animation professionals earn an average of $1150 a week; directors $1265; gallery, library and museum technicians $1150 and music professionals $1150*. Joboutlook.gov.au
