Casey leads community focus for TAFE NSW Forbes

Community first – that’s the focus for new TAFE NSW Services Coordinator, Casey Miles, who’s looking forward to showcasing to locals the life-changing learning and education opportunities available in Forbes.

With the 2019 Grattan Institute Risks and Rewards Report revealing that a vocational education and training graduate is likely to start earning more money, earlier in their career, than an equivalent university graduate, Ms Miles believes there’s never been a better time to consider coming to TAFE NSW.

“I’m really passionate about our local region, and I’m excited to be working with the Forbes community to identify the training that is most needed to ensure our region flourishes,” Ms Miles said.

“It’s very important for TAFE NSW to provide the right, specialised training options to ensure not only business and industry needs are being met, but that locals can get the skills they need to be employed.

“TAFE NSW Forbes has lots of great new courses available for enrolment, spanning high-demand areas such as Information Technology, Leadership and Management, Community Services and Hospitality – just to name a few.”

Ms Miles, who started in her position in July, has had a long affiliation with Australia’s largest training organization.

“I have been associated with TAFE NSW for nearly two decades, including starting out as a TVET student, teaching animal studies and to working in education programs as an executive assistant,” she said.

“I love the diversity of the TAFE NSW Services Coordinator role and that I am able to liaise with students, the community and local businesses on all levels to help everyone achieve their training needs and goals.

“I honestly believe the training that TAFE NSW provides is world-class and life-changing, and I’m looking forward to helping people upskill or change careers, and most importantly, deliver positive results for the local Forbes community.”
