Jennifer and Scott enhance learning experiences at TAFE NSW Tenterfield

TAFE NSW has further strengthened its commitment to students in the Tenterfield region, with two highly-skilled Education Support Officers having a positive impact on students studying at the state-of-the-art Connected Learning Centre (CLC).

Jennifer Savins and Scott Beynon both possess strong teaching backgrounds, and the range of language, numeracy, literacy and information technology support they are providing students is ensuring a better and more successful learning experience for Tenterfield students.

Jennifer said, “I am passionate about quality education and I’m excited to be able to help Tenterfield students throughout their learning journey with TAFE NSW, offering them one-on-one language, numeracy and literacy support to help them continue to meet the demands of their courses.

“I have worked at TAFE NSW Tenterfield for more than 12 years as a teacher in a range of areas including information technology, business, language, literacy and numeracy, and agriculture.

“I am now enjoying working closely with the students in my role as an Education Support Officer. I feel like I have already developed a good rapport with the students and they feel that they can come to me anytime for assistance.”

Scott, who has worked as a maths teacher at Melbourne University, added, “I love to learn and as a teacher you never stop learning, not only about the subject you are teaching, but you also learn a lot from the students themselves.

“Every day and every student is different and that really keeps you on your toes. I get a great sense of satisfaction helping and tutoring the students with one-on-one information technology support.”

Both Jennifer and Scott agree 2020 promises to be an exciting year at the TAFE NSW Connected Learning Centre in Tenterfield, with a range of life-changing courses now open for enrolment for semester one.

Some of the courses include: Certificate III and IV in Community Services, Certificate II and III in Information, Digital Media and Technology, Certificate III in Community Services, Certificate II and III in Business, and many more.
