RACHEL’S CAREER IN RECRUITING REACHES NEW HEIGHTS

A Glebe local is kicking her career and study goals, having gained a role in the highly competitive recruitment industry, and taking out a top gong at the TAFE NSW Excellence Awards.

According to the National Skills Commission, recruitment activity is increasing across Australia, so now is the right time for graduates to join the industry.

31-year-old Rachel Bales completed a Bachelor of Business at TAFE NSW Ultimo and has since gained a job as a Recruitment Consultant at ACRWORLD, specialising in piling and geotechnical engineering. Rachel was also recently awarded TAFE NSW Technology and Business Services Student of the Year.

“I enrolled in the TAFE NSW Bachelor of Business as I was looking for a formal qualification to bolster my experience in the sector. The degree gave me the confidence, communication skills, and theoretical knowledge I needed to hit the ground running,” Ms Bales said.

“While the course was at times challenging, I really enjoyed learning in a collaborative, interactive environment and the support from teachers was invaluable in setting me up for success in my career.”

“The degree has helped me to communicate effectively with clients and improved my ability to advise, sell, and persuade. I’ve been able to hit every target which has been set in my new role so far, and winning TAFE NSW Technology and Business Services Student of the Year has been the icing on the cake.”

Head Teacher of Business Services David Chemke said the Bachelor of Business is perfect for students looking to expand their horizons and gain job-ready skills.

“The Bachelor of Business provides students with a broad range of skills across management, human resources, international business, marketing and communications, as well as a workplace internship program in the final semester of study,” Mr Chemke said.

“Whether a student has prior experience in a corporate role or is just starting out, the degree provides students with insight, inspiration, and in-demand skills which can be applied to a variety of settings and roles.”
