TAFE NSW Nepean student tops TAFE NSW awards

A TAFE NSW Nepean student has been recognised for her academic achievement and positive work ethic at the TAFE NSW Excellence Awards in Kingswood last night.

Linda Park was announced as Student of the Year and also received an Industry Achievement Award (Creative and Design Ideation) at the prestigious Western Sydney Excellence Awards at a gala awards ceremony at TAFE NSW Nepean.

TAFE NSW Regional General Manager, Michael Cullen, commended the winners for the commitment and dedication they have shown to their studies.

“These awards recognise our most passionate, industrious and skillful students, and the fact teachers are the ones who nominate the students’ makes it even more special,” Mr Cullen said.

“I have no doubt that these students will go on to forge highly successful careers and will be wonderful ambassadors for TAFE NSW.”

Mr Cullen said the awards exemplified TAFE NSW’s commitment to training the workforce leaders of tomorrow.

“TAFE NSW is proud to equip students with practical skills and work experience so they’re ready to hit the ground running in their chosen field.

“It’s very gratifying for TAFE NSW staff to watch students like Linda grow and transform their lives through education.”

Mr Cullen said the awards emphasised the commitment of TAFE NSW to train the workforce leaders of the future when, where and how it suits them.

Linda Park said “After working as a graphic designer in a corporate environment for many years, I starting wondering if I have fully utilised my skills and abilities

“Studying at TAFE NSW Nepean has completely changed me in regards my confidence and attitudes towards tasks that are seemingly too difficult or time consuming.

“The credit goes to the excellent teachers and their enormous efforts to make sure that we work hard and expand our knowledge and gain new skills. I am proud of my achievements in my study areas this year at TAFE NSW Nepean, knowing that I have been spoken highly of, among my colleagues and my teachers.

“I have received positive feedback from my teachers as well as my colleagues, which have made me realise that I have chosen the right career for myself and that all my effort and hard work have been rewarded.”
