On Monday night, three TAFE NSW Richmond students were recognised for their hard work and dedication at the twelfth annual Richmond Rotary Award.

Held at Richmond Golf Club, the event saw the Rotary Club of Richmond award three $1,000 Rotary Scholarships to TAFE NSW Richmond students, Megan Couzins, Darren Castle and Adriaan Schepel for their outstanding academic achievements in their agricultural studies.

Congratulating the TAFE NSW Richmond students on their achievements, the Rotary Club of Richmond’s Youth Service Director, Phil Tuckerman said, “The Rotary Club of Richmond has been committed to supporting the youth of the Hawkesbury community since 1972.

“The Rotary Club of Richmond is an avid supporter of local youth programs in the Richmond area as it is important that local students be provided with the opportunities to complete vocational training as they are our future workforce.

“We are pleased to sponsor the students from TAFE NSW Richmond and proud to acknowledge their hard work and dedication to be job ready with practical skills and work experience. They deserve this recognition for their amazing efforts.”

TAFE NSW Richmond veterinary nursing student, Megan Couzins who was awarded the Rotary Youth Scholarship is over the moon with excitement about her achievements.

”It is an absolute privilege to receive the Rotary Youth Scholarship award. I really was not expecting to be awarded with a scholarship, so I am still in shock.

“I’m incredibly passionate about completing my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing so that I can make a difference working as a veterinary nurse, and this scholarship is really going to help me financially with my studies.”

TAFE NSW Services Manager, Asimina Karpouzas said, “TAFE NSW Richmond has a long standing relationship with the Rotary Club of Richmond, which has been fundamental in the progress and support for the students who receive these scholarships.”
