TAFE NSW students dominate Southern and South Western Sydney Regional Training Awards: Elleyce Guerreiro 

Caringbah local Elleyce Guerreiro has been announced as the winner of the Southern and South Western Sydney Regional Training Awards School Based Apprentice/Trainee of the Year at the prestigious Training Services NSW virtual event today. 

The TAFE NSW student, who is employed by LJ Hooker Caringbah, was one of five winners of the awards announced via Facebook live. 

TAFE NSW Regional General Manager Vicky Mazzeo said the strong showing by TAFE NSW finalists for the six award categories was testament to their commitment to excellence in their chosen field. 

“Congratulations to Elleyce on winning School Based Apprentice/Trainee of the Year, this is a wonderful result for TAFE NSW and a great endorsement of Elleyce’s talent,” said Ms Mazzeo. 

“TAFE NSW plays a crucial role in ensuring we are delivering a skilled, capable workforce and Elleyce is an excellent example of how our training can help students achieve their career aspirations.” 

Elleyce said “Winning School Based Apprentice/Trainee of the Year for the Southern and South Western Sydney Region is such an honour.  

“By being granted this award, I set an example for those who want to take on a vocational pathway and get a head start in their career. As I gain more experiences and qualifications, I hope to forge a successful career within the real estate industry and be known amongst my peers as someone who has exceptional knowledge and skills.”  

Minister for Tertiary Education, Geoff Lee, said that he was delighted that so many of the award winners were from TAFE NSW and that the strong results at this year’s awards we are clear demonstration of the high-quality education and training provided by Australia’s largest training provider.  

“TAFE NSW plays a critical role in shaping the careers of people across a range of important industries that are critical to the economy. 

“Elleyce is testament to the depth of talent and exciting career opportunities on offer through vocational education and training pathways.  

The NSW Training Awards celebrate the excellence of apprentices, trainees and students undertaking vocational education and training. 

The winners from the Southern and South Western Sydney Regional Training Awards will be interviewed and considered for the NSW Training Awards which will are planned to be held in Sydney later this year.
