INDUSTRY DEMAND
Employers in Australia require their workers to have good reading and writing skills, as well as basic technology skills. This course will allow you to gain these foundational skills. You will be able to confidently apply these skills while looking at meaningful employment or study pathways.

WORK PLACEMENT
Depending on the electives you choose, work placement with a suitable industry employer will be required.
Work placement provides you with opportunities to practise responding to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment.
You may complete your placement in an environment that interests you. Your teacher will prepare you for the work environment and support you to find the placement and undertake the work activities.

With 130 locations across the state, TAFE NSW tailors qualifications to meet the needs of the local community and specific student groups (like apprentices, fast-tracked and online students). STUDY COMMITMENT
This is a Flexible Blended course. You will need to attend approximately 25 hours of class, over flexible days a week, for 18 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 8 hours of other study per week.
You may also be required to complete approximately 13.9 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours. This course is delivered flexibly with students studying at their own pace. They attend class at individually specified times but may also continue their work at home.

This course offering is designed for people who:
- This course is for people who have left school early before completing any formal qualifications and require Mathematics, English, Science and Humanities knowledge, and skills for engagement in further education, training or employment. It provides an equivalent year 10 completion.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
