Course Details

This course is intended to provide participants with the following general education outcomes:

  • enterprise and employability skills to retrain or enter the workforce
  • communication skills for accessing and maintaining employment
  • technological skills to use new and emerging forms of technology
  • learning skills for further education and training
  • access to enhanced employment opportunities and career choices as well as skills and knowledge to access further education in a range of vocational qualifications
  • skills and knowledge associated with Aboriginal communities and people.

There are no essential entry requirements for this course.

Entrants benefit from language and literacy levels of at least ACSF 3 and which are sufficient to interpret increasingly complex and unfamiliar documents, analyse texts and prepare written communications.

As a TAFE NSW student in this course, you will have access to:

Classes are currently scheduled to run on Tuesday 9:30 - 3:00, Wednesday 9:00 - 2:30, Thursday 9:00 - 2:30. Self -directed learning 4 hours per week for 16 weeks, Learner Support available.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

When your enrolment is complete, and you have paid the applicable fees, you will be entitled to attend class, participate in training, sit for examinations, receive educational awards, use amenities and services and receive an active TAFEcard (which provides access to library resources).

In addition to your course fee, there may be some additional charges to cover the costs of undertaking this training.

Costs associated with work experience and field trips such as food, transport and accommodation are at the students own expense.
