The nationally accredited Certificate III in Career Advancement is designed to develop your employability skills, to find and keep the job you love. You will learn essential workplace skills, and begin to develop leadership qualities that employers are looking for.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To make sure this is the appropriate course level for you, you will need to participate in a phone interview with one of our teaching staff.

COURSE SUCCESS REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in this course you must:

  • Have basic literacy and numeracy skills (at ACSF level 3 or above)

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

There are no licensing requirements for this course.

WORK PLACEMENT

Depending on your location, and subject availability you may underake work placement if you study the following unit:

  • Participate in work placement (FSKLRG06)

Your teacher will assist you in identifying a work placement opportunity and engaging with the employer once you start the unit. The hours will be negotiated between you, your teacher and the employer.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a full-time, blended delivery course. You will need to attend approximately 22 hours of class, over 4 days a week, for 18 weeks.

You may also be required to complete approximately 13 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including private study, assignment preparation, work experience and research.

To keep you safe while studying, some of our face to face classes may be replaced with online or connected learning. We have also modified our face to face classes to meet physical distancing requirements and increased cleaning on campus. As restrictions ease, the way you attend your class may change again. If work placement and the demonstration of practical skills are requirements of your course, due to the impacts of COVID 19 there may be a delay or modification in being able to undertake these aspects of your course in the planned timeframe. Be assured, we'll keep you informed every step of the way.

This course is currently scheduled on Monday to Thursday from 9:30am to 3:00pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

A fee applies for most TAFE NSW courses and must be paid when you enrol. The amount you pay depends on the type of course you study, and on your personal circumstances. The Department is introducing fee exemptions for all qualifications and courses funded under the Entitlement Foundation Skills (EFS) Program for training commencing from 1 July 2018 onwards. This means that eligible students commencing in a foundation skills full qualification/course delivered by TAFE NSW under the EFS program from 1 July 2018 will not be required to pay a fee.
