Course Details

This course is intended to provide participants with the following general education outcomes:

- English language proficiency of level 1 on the ISLPRĀ® scale.
- English language proficiency to undertake qualifications requiring proficiency of ISLPRĀ® 1, IELTS 3.5 or CEFR A2 on entry, which provide a pathway to access employment, training and community participation.
A minimum English language proficiency of ISLPR 1-, IELTS 3 or CEFR A1 across all skills of Speaking, Reading, Listening and Writing.
(TBC).In addition to the 10 hours face to face delivery per week, you can expect to do approximately 21 hours per week practising the English you are learning in the community or workplace as well as extra learning activities which may include homework, self-directed study, online learning and topic revision.

INFORMATION SESSION

You must attend an information session to make sure you enrol in the best course for you. At the information session you will talk to a teacher and have an English language assessment.

You will need to attend an interview session on Thursday 13th June between 10:00am-12:00pm or 3:00pm-5:00pm or Tuesday 25th June between 10:00am-12:00pm or 3:00pm-5:00pm at TAFE Northern Beaches Campus, 154 Old Pittwater Road, Brookvale, ESOL Section at Building D, Level 1, Room 13.

You will need to attend approximately 10 hours of class a week over 2 days on Tuesdaysand Thursdays 9.30 to 3 pm (TBC).

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
