Course Details

This course is intended to provide participants with the following general education outcomes:

- English language proficiency at Level 1+ on the ISLPR® scale

- English language proficiency to undertake qualifications requiring ISLPR® 1+, IELTS 4 or CEFR A2+ on entry, which provide a pathway to access employment, training and community participation.
There are no essential entry requirements or limitations for this course.

Entrants should have:

A minimum English language proficiency of ISLPR® 1, IELTS 3.5 or CEFR A2 across all skill levels of Speaking, Reading, Listening and Writing.
Before learners can enrol in this course, they must attend a placement session to have their English language skills assessed.

Please attend an information/placement session on any one of the dates below which will be held at TAFE NSW Granville in Room C336 from 1:30pm.

The testing dates are: Thursday 30 May, Thursday 6 June, Thursday 13 June and Thursday 20 June 2019.

To prepare for the assessment you will need to provide a:
* A Unique Student Identifier (USI) - to create a USI you will need a drivers licence or a passport or an Immi Card or a Medicare card
* An email address
* A photo identification card or document - a drivers licence or passport

Proposed Attendance: Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:00am to 3:00pm and Fridays from 9:00am to 2:30pm, 16 hours per week for 18 weeks (1 Semester).

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

A fee applies for most TAFE NSW courses and must be paid when you enrol. The amount you pay depends on the type of course you study, and on your personal circumstances. The Department is introducing fee exemptions for all qualifications and courses funded under the Entitlement Foundation Skills (EFS) Program for training commencing from 1 July 2018 onwards. This means that eligible students commencing in a foundation skills full qualification/course delivered by TAFE NSW under the EFS program from 1 July 2018 will not be required to pay a fee.
