Course Details

This course is intended to provide participants with the following general education outcomes:

- English language proficiency of Level 2 on the ISLPRĀ® scale.

- English language proficiency to undertake qualifications requiring proficiency of ISLPRĀ® 2, IELTS 4.5 or CEFR B1 on entry, which provide a pathway to access employment, training and community participation.
A minimum English language proficiency of ISLPRA 1+, IELTS 4 or CEFR A2+ across all levels of Speaking, Reading, Listening and Writing.
In addition to the 15 hours face to face delivery per week, you can expect to do approximately 12 hours per week practising the English you are learning in the community or workplace as well as extra learning activities which may include homework, self-directed study, online learning and topic revision.

INFORMATION SESSION
You must attend an information session. You can attend this session on Thursday 13 June at 3:00pm OR Wednesday 26 June at 10:00am. Please come to Buildig C, Level 3, Room C3.32, at Petersham TAFE, Crystal Street Campus, 27 Crystal Street Petersham. At this information session you will speak to a teacher and have an English language assessment.

You will need to attend approximately 15 hours of class a week over 18 weeks. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9:00am to 2:30pm.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to Sydney TAFE and the government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
