This is an online course. You will need to complete approximately 8 hours of online study, each week, for your enrolment duration of 1 year.
You can increase the hours of online study per week to complete the course sooner.
This course can be completed entirely online. No on campus attendance is required.
You can also expect to complete approximately 6 hours of additional study each week outside of online study hours, including private study, research and assessment preparation.

This course offering is designed for people who:
- need Year 10 school equivalent qualification for Defence Force Entry or entry to vocational areas requiring Year 10 equivalent qualifications, or to study the HSC or Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation.
As the Defence Preparation Statement of Attainment courses are currently superseded, TAFE NSW have the approval of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to enrol learners in 10591NAT- Certificate II in Further Study Skills to support ADF entry requirements. You may elect to only enrol in the units for English, Maths and/or Science.
The Certificate II in Further Study Skills prepares graduates for further study or training in vocational areas that require mathematics and science, such as engineering, electro-technology, building and construction, manufacturing and automotive industries.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
