Course Details

This course is intended to provide participants with the following general education outcomes:

- English language proficiency of Level 2+ on the ISLPR® scale.

- English language proficiency to undertake qualifications requiring proficiency of ISLPR® 2+, IELTS 5 or CEFR B1+ on entry, which provide a pathway to access employment, training and community participation.

- English language entry requirement to TAFE NSW courses requiring IELTS 5 at entry.
There are no essential entry requirements or limitations for this course.

Entrants should have:

- a minimum English language proficiency of ISLPR® 2, IELTS 4.5 or CEFR B1 across all skill levels of Speaking, Reading, Listening and Writing

- a proposed study pathway
In addition to the 20 hours face to face delivery per week, you can expect to do approximately 42 hours per week practising the English you are learning in the community or workplace as well as extra learning activities which may include homework, self-directed study, online learning and topic revision.

INFORMATION SESSION

You must attend an information session - At this information session you will speak to a teacher and have an English language assessment to make sure your English Level is the right level for the course.
You can attend this Information Session on Thursday June 13 at 3pm OR Wednesday June 26 at 10am. Please come to Room C3.32 at Petersham TAFE, 27 Crystal St ,Petersham.

You will attend class on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am till 2pm.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to Sydney TAFE and the government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
