This course is intended to provide participants with the following general education outcomes:
English language proficiency of Level 2+ on the ISLPR scale.
English language proficiency to undertake qualifications requiring proficiency of ISLPR 2+, IELTS 5 or CEFR B1+ on entry, which provide a pathway to access employment, training and community participation.
English language entry requirement to TAFE NSW courses requiring IELTS 5 at entry.

This is a part time, face to face course. You will need to attend approximately 10 hours of class, over 2 days a week, for 36 weeks.
You may also be required to complete approximately 9.5 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including independent study, research, practice and assignments.

This course offering is designed for people who:
- learners whose language background is other than English and who need to obtain English language proficiency of Level 2 on the ISLPR? scale, Level 4 on the ACSF or IELTS 4.5.
- learners who need a pathway to access employment, training and community participation.

This course is currently scheduled Monday and Tuesday from 9:30am to 3:00pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

Students will be required to bring a binder, notebook, pens and highlighters (general stationery of their choosing). They may also find it useful to have a dictionary or dictionary app on their mobile device.
