This course is intended to provide participants with the following general education outcomes:
English language proficiency of Level 2+ on the ISLPR scale.
English language proficiency to undertake qualifications requiring proficiency of ISLPR 2+, IELTS 5 or CEFR B1+ on entry, which provide a pathway to access employment, training and community participation.
English language entry requirement to TAFE NSW courses requiring IELTS 5 at entry.

STUDY COMMITMENT This is a full time course. You will need to attend approximately 16 hours of class, over 3 days a week, for 18 weeks. You may also be required to complete approximately 16 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours.
Students are provided with resources and other study opportunities including:
- Supported study time in the Study Centre
- Independent study time in the Study Centre
- Moodles as appropriate for each delivery
- Access to purchased software on computers in the learning centre- Library resources
- Additional reading material

The outcomes of the Certificate III in English for Further Study course are suited to learners who require an intermediate level of English competence for further study purposes. The course offers a pathway for students requiring English language and study skills for further study in TAFE courses, other VET courses or higher English acquisition courses with the purpose of gaining the English language competencies required for entering university.

This course is currently scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday 9:30am to 3:30pm, Friday 9:30am to 3:00pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
