Course Details

This course is intended to provide participants with the following general education outcomes:
- English language proficiency of Level 3 on the ISLPR® scale
- English language proficiency to undertake qualifications requiring proficiency of ISLPR® 3, IELTS 5.5 or CEFR B2 on entry, which provide a pathway to access employment, training and community participation
- English language entry requirement to TAFE NSW courses requiring IELTS 5.5 at entry.
There are no essential entry requirements or limitations for this course.
Entrants should have:
- A minimum English language proficiency of ISLPR® 2+, IELTS 5 or CEFR B1+ across all skill levels of Speaking, Reading, Listening and Writing
and
- a proposed study pathway.
Before you enrol in this course, you must attend a placement session, where the teachers will assess your English language skills.

To prepare for the assessment you will need:
* A Unique Student Identifier (USI) - to create a USI you will need a drivers licence, passport, an Imm. card or a Medicare card
* An email address
* A photo identification card or document - a drivers licence or passport

Proposed Attendance: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00am to 2:30pm, 20 hours per week for 18 weeks (one semester).

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

A fee applies for most TAFE NSW courses and must be paid when you enrol. The amount you pay depends on the type of course you study, and on your personal circumstances. The Department is introducing fee exemptions for all qualifications and courses funded under the Entitlement Foundation Skills (EFS) Program for training commencing from 1 July 2018 onwards. This means that eligible students commencing in a foundation skills full qualification/course delivered by TAFE NSW under the EFS program from 1 July 2018 will not be required to pay a fee.
