ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A teacher will contact you to make sure this is the right course for you.

To be eligible for this course, you must:

  • Identify as an Aboriginal person or
  • Have the approval of a local Aboriginal community organisation if you are a non-Aboriginal person

Evidence required

  • A Confirmation of Aboriginality letter (see note below) or alternative form of evidence of Aboriginality or
  • A letter of approval from a local Aboriginal community organisation where you plan to study

Note: In NSW, a Confirmation of Aboriginality letter can be issued by any NSW-incorporated Aboriginal organisation or Local Aboriginal Land Council. Refer to the Department of Aboriginal Affairs for further details.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

With 130 locations across the state, TAFE NSW tailors qualifications to meet the needs of the local community and specific student groups (like apprentices, fast-tracked and online students). To make sure this course is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a part time evening course. You will need to attend approximately 5 hours of class, over 2 days a week, for 20 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 7 hours of other study per week.

You may also be required to complete approximately 18 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours including, research, interviews, group projects and community activities.

This course is currently scheduled on Tuesday ans Thursday from 5.30pm to 8.00pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
