This Tertiary Preparation Course (TPC) is intended to provide participants with the following general education outcomes:
- Year 12 equivalent qualification
- Tertiary Entrance Score (TES) for those seeking entry to university
- entry to further study at diploma level and above in the Vocational Education and Training sector
- entry to careers requiring a year 12 equivalent qualification, including Australian Defence Force
- research and high level written skills
- critical thinking and academic learning skills
- the ability to engage with and use a range of technologies
- preparation for further study in science, technology, engineering and maths vocational areas.

Certificate II or equivalent skills and knowledgeTo be enrolled to this course, you will need:
- To have a Certificate II or equivalent skills and knowledge for entry.
- To undertake the LLN screening through RUReady, participate in an interview to assess oral communication, learning strategies and motivation, and to complete a writing task prior to entry. RUReady identifies Reading and Numeracy ACSF levels. It is recommended that you be working within or above Level 3 for both areas.

Location: TAFE NSW Liverpool, Building K, Level 2, Room K2.10
This is a full-time face to face course. You will need to attend approximately 29 hours of class, over 5 days a week, for 18 weeks.
You may also be required to complete approximately 12 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including review of class work, writing of case studies, completion of practice questions, private study, completion of unfinished class work, research relevant to content and assessment tasks, exam and class test preparation, and planning and writing essays and reports.
**IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?**
This course offering is designed for people who: - want a Year 12 HSC equivalent, a Tertiary Entrance Score (TES), entry into a diploma level and above in the VET sector or entry into the Australian Defence Force. - Students can complete this course in 18 weeks if they have completed Certificate III in Pathways to Further Study or equivalent. Students who have not completed Certificate III in Pathways to Further Study will take 36 weeks to complete Cert IV in Tertiary Preparation.

This course is currently scheduled on Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 3:30pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

This course is fully government-subsidised for eligible students, meaning you will not have to pay any course fees. It is part of a program to help people develop the skills they need to get a job, undertake entry level qualifications or transition to a new job.
If you are not eligible for subsidised training, you can still choose to enrol in the course but will need to pay the full (non-subsidised) fee.
